Adriano Galliani has paid tribute to AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi for saving the club from financial ruin after another injection of funds covered an operating loss in 2013.

Berlusconi bought the Serie A club in 1986, "saving Milan from financial ruin with an exaggerated investment," according to general manager Galliani, who unveiled an operating loss of 15.7 million euros for the 2013 calendar year on Wednesday. That has been offset by an injection of 22 million euros by Berlusconi's Fininvest financial holding company.
Galliani said in La Gazzetta dello Sport those resources will also "ensure Milan respect UEFA's financial fair play rules" and dismissed rumours the Rossoneri could face sanctions when European football's governing body deliver the results of their assessment of club finances next month.
Galliani, speaking at Milan's new headquarters near the city's Stadio San Siro, said 2013 had been a "good year" for the club.
He continued: "We finished third and got through the group stage of the Champions League. Since Berlusconi arrived, we have won everything in Italy, in Europe and in the world.
"We can only hope that Berlusconi remains at this club for the next 100 years, and I say that as a fan. We have always got to be grateful for Silvio Berlusconi. He has gifted us plenty of joy and 28 trophies."
Galliani also had warm words for Berlusconi's daughter Barbara, who almost succeeded in removing him from the club last November.
"Credit for these new headquarters should not go to me, but to Barbara Berlusconi," he said. "We have the option to buy these headquarters in 2019 for a predetermined price."
