Thohir: Mazzarri will remain Inter coach

Inter president Erick Thohir has confirmed that Walter Mazzarri will continue coaching the Serie A side into the 2014-15 campaign.

Inter head coach Walter Mazzarri looks set to be operating with limited funds this January.
Walter Mazzarri's Inter side currently lie fifth in Serie A with 50 points from 32 games.

Sunday Serie A wrap

2-2 draw with Bologna on Saturday marked a fourth successive league game without a victory, leaving Inter 14 points adrift of Napoli in the final Champions League qualifying position, and also in major doubt of missing out on the Europa League.

Former Inter coach Hector Cuper recently claimed that Roberto Mancini was set to make a shock return to the club next season, but Thohir has backed the current coach to provide continuity as the Nerazzurri prepare to recruit new players in the summer.

"We have no problem," Thohir told Sky Sport Italia. "The professional relationship with Mazzarri will continue next season. We will start to work out some new targets in the market as it is very important to prepare."

On the remaining six games of the season, which include clashes Napoli and AC Milan, Thohir added: "It will be exciting but it will be tough as well. We have talked about how to prepare. I'm sure that in the future we will get good results."
