Sat: Udinese 1-0 AC Milan

The first of three games between the sides over the next 12 days -- they meet in the Europa League too -- was settled by Kwadwo Asamoah.

The winger struck just before half-time to cement the Old Lady's position at the top of Serie A. Asamoah skipped into the penalty area with a trick taking him past three Fiorentina defenders before his shot deflected into the far corner, off the inside of the post.

Juve's lead was extended at the summit after second-paced Roma lost 1-0 at Napoli, a result which moved Rafael Benitez's side to within three points of their visitors and 10 points in front of fourth-placed Fiorentina.

Jose Callejon scored the only goal of the game nine minutes from time as Rafa Benitez's men strengthened their claim for Champions League football against next season.

Callejon planted Faouzi Ghoulam's cross better than a postage stamp into the top right-hand corner, the ball grazing both the post and the crossbar on its way in.

Rodrigo Palacio's first-half header gave Inter Milan a 1-0 victory over Torino. Palacio nodded in the only goal of the game on the half-hour mark as Inter returned to winning ways after draws in their previous two league games.

The outcome in Milan has kept the Nerazzurri in fifth place, now just one point adrift of Fiorentina.

The winner came in the 30th minute when Palacio played a one-two with Esteban Cambiasso in the box and nodded past Padelli from close range. It was only the seventh goal Inter have scored in 2014.

Parma pulled ahead of Hellas Verona in the race for European qualification with a 2-0 win at Stadio Ennio Tardini.

Jonathan Biabiany's first-half goal set them on their way and after keeping Verona at bay in the second half, they added a second in stoppage time through Ezequiel Schelotto.

The win left Parma three points ahead of their opponents in sixth place in Serie A, the final Europa League berth.

Atalanta edged 10-man Lazio 1-0 for their first win on the road since Oct. 5.

Maximiliano Moralez's goal on the hour mark was the difference between the two sides at the Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio shot themselves in the foot two minutes after conceding the goal when playmaker Antonio Candreva was sent off for a second yellow card.

The outcome has lifted Atalanta to 13th in the standings, 13 points clear of the drop zone, and dropped a Lazio side that had not lost at home since December 2 to eighth place and five points off the European places.

Sampdoria came from two goals down to beat Livorno 4-2 with a rousing second-half display at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Ibrahima Mbaye scored his first goals in Serie A to crown one of Livorno's best halves of football this season, but that was still not enough to ease their relegation worries.

Instead, Domenico Di Carlo's men capitulated in the second half with Nenad Krsticic bringing Samp back into the game before a Federico Ceccherini own goal drew them level.

Stefano Okaka and Manolo Gabbiadini then sealed the win for the Blucerchiati to take them 13 points clear of their opponents, who remain inside the bottom three having wasted a great chance to move out of danger.

Alberto Paloschi scored twice from the penalty spot as relegation-battling Chievo eased past Genoa 2-1.

Paloschi put the hosts ahead in the fifth minute and that goal looked as if it would be the winner for the much the match.

However, in a dramatic finale, Alberto Gilardino equalised two minutes from time for Genoa, only for Paloschi to convert his second spot kick with the final play of the game after substitute Dejan Lazarevic was fouled by Marco Motta in the area.

Chievo's victory, which brought an end to Genoa's four-match unbeaten run, lifted the Verona outfit to 16th place and three points clear of the bottom three.

Bottom-side Sassuolo marked their managerial change as they halted a run of seven straight defeats with a 0-0 draw at Bologna.

The visitors had the best opportunity of the game to score three minutes before half-time but Nicola Sansone's bullet-like effort struck the crossbar with Bologna goalkeeper Gianluca Curci already beaten.

The result has left Sassuolo five points adrift of safety while Bologna are 17th and just two points clear of the relegation zone.
