Juventus coach Antonio Conte says the only legacy of Fabio Capello's reign in charge of the Bianconeri are two titles which were then revoked, as he responded to the Russia manager's criticism of his training ideas.
• Rzouki: Juve respond to Capello criticism
Capello said last week he would never punish his players by forcing them to train after a negative result, like Conte did following the 2-2 draw with Hellas Verona on Feb. 9.
However, after Sunday's 3-1 win over Chievo, Conte decided to deliver his riposte to the former England boss, saying his achievements as Juve coach are open for ridicule.
"All people remember of his two years here were the two titles revoked," Conte said.
"Strangely, Capello likes to stick his nose in where it's not wanted. He won two scudetti, but nobody really remembers anything of them. I remember the scudetti won by [Marcello] Lippi and [Giovanni] Trapattoni, but I can't remember Capello's Juventus. I just remember that, with the troop he had, he was knocked out in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
"If I were him, I'd take a look at myself before saying stupid things. I'd prefer it if people would mind their own business. Maybe somebody is worried by the fact that this Juve is getting more points and better numbers than during those two years."
Those numbers currently speak for themselves with Juve on course for a third straight scudetto and a record-breaking points haul this season, although they were dumped out of the Champions League at the group stage.
Only Roma appear able to interfere with their march to domestic glory for a third year running, and while that remains mathematically possible, Giallorossi midfielder Miralem Pjanic says his side will do all they can to make the title race interesting.
"We've given the right answer against Sampdoria," he told Sky Italia. "We're still second and we're not going to give an inch. We still believe. It's not over yet."
Second-placed Roma trail Juventus by nine points, but they still have a game in hand, while the Serie A leaders are due to visit the Stadio Olimpico on the penultimate weekend of the season.
