Higuain still hoping to clinch Serie A title

Gonzalo Higuain still has his sights on the Scudetto after seeing how much winning it would mean to Napoli's fans.

Napoli -- currently third -- would need to close a 10-point gap on Serie A leaders Juventus in the second half of the season, but Higuain still believes it can happen.

"You can never say never in football," Higuain told Radio Kiss Kiss. "Let's first get past Roma, then we'll see. They're just two points ahead of us, then we can think about Juve. There are lots of points to be made up, but there are still lots of games to be played, and I've seen many things happen in football."

Around 15,000 supporters turned up for an open training session at the Stadio San Paolo on Thursday, and the Argentina international said he was astonished to see such support and reaffirmed his love for the Serie A club.

"It was a surprise for us and we're grateful for it -- it was a very pleasant training session," he added. "The fans love me and that's very gratifying. It's a special love and I've got to pay them back on the field. I cannot let the fans, the club or my teammates down.

"I thank them for the affection they show day after day and I'm delighted to play for this club. A footballer could not ask for any more than this."
