Mutu: I'm happy to help Fiorentina

Adrian Mutu has offered his services to his former club Fiorentina, who have been hit by the news that Giuseppe Rossi is expected to miss up to three months with a knee injury and that a return for Mario Gomez is still not in sight.

Adrian mutu returned from a nine-month doping ban - the second drug-related suspension of his career- in October 2010
Mutu has said he would help his old club.

On Monday, Rossi was diagnosed with a badly-sprained knee and will undergo further tests and treatment in the U.S. However, Serie A’s top scorer is expected to return before the end of the season.

In the meantime, Mutu -- who spent five seasons in Florence between 2006 and 2011 -- has said he is willing to help out. The 34-year-old is currently surplus to requirements at French side Ajaccio.

"I'm really sorry about what has happened to Rossi -- he was playing really well and leading Fiorentina. I feel for him," Mutu told Italy's Radio Blu.

"Everybody knows what I feel for this city and this club. Since I left, I've always maintained my love for Florence. I remained on good terms with the club and, if Fiorentina were to call me, I wouldn't hesitate a second to return."

The Serie A club, who cemented fourth place in the table with a 1-0 win over Livorno on Sunday, have yet to decide whether to draft in any cover for their injured strikers.

They face Chievo in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night before travelling to Torino in the league at the weekend.
