Inter Milan win Curva Nord appeal
Inter Milan have won an appeal against the decision to close the Curva Nord for Sunday’s derby clash with AC Milan.
As a result of ‘discriminatory’ chants against Napoli during their recent 4-2 defeat to Rafa Benitez’s side, the Italian Lega Serie A had ordered the closure of the Curva Nord section of the San Siro for Inter’s ‘home’ meeting with their city rivals.
However, following an appeal, the Italian FA (FIGC) has confirmed that the sanction has been suspended.
Inter veteran Javier Zanetti had earlier told RAI that the closure of the Curva Nord would cause the derby to “lose all its appeal.”
Roma, meanwhile, also won their appeal that would have seen their Curva Sud closed for their meeting with Catania this weekend.
