Arturo Vidal signs new Juventus deal
Juventus have announced that Arturo Vidal has signed a one-year contract extension which will keep him at the club until 2017.
• Rzouki: Juve win again
Vidal, 26, moved to Turin from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011 and has been a key part of the Juventus team that won back-to-back Serie A titles in the last two seasons.
After scoring a Champions League hat trick to help the Bianconeri beat Copenhagen 3-1 last week the Chile international midfielder spoke of his eagerness to resolve his future with the club.
And he has now done that, signing a deal which reportedly boosts his wages to five million euros per year.
An official club statement confirmed the news and underlined the player’s importance to the club, saying: "Arturo Vidal has signed a contract extension with Juve until 2017.
"Vidal is one of the most complete players in the world and can play in any role.
"His story in Turin began two years ago but he has already made a mark.
"We hope he will continue to write many more memorable pages in the history of Juventus."
Meanwhile, after ending speculation about a move to Real Madrid, Vidal added: "It's a very important day in my life and I hope that the Juventus fans will be happy."
