Four Serie A sides punished for chants

AC Milan, Inter Milan, Roma and Torino have all been handed suspended stadium bans as a result of discriminatory chanting.

Fans of the four clubs were deemed guilty of offensive chanting during the weekend, and three of the clubs -- Milan, Inter and Roma -- have been handed 50,000 euro fines. The sentences have all been suspended for one year.

Torino’s 3-3 draw with Inter had nearly been suspended as visiting fans put the strict rules on discrimination to the test.

Milan, meanwhile, beat Udinese 1-0 at the San Siro in a match that had been due to be played behind closed doors due to previous incidents of discriminatory chanting until the Rossoneri fought to overturn the ruling.

Fans attending Roma’s 2-0 victory at home to Napoli were also deemed to have contravened the rules on chanting.
