Andreolli delighted to be back at Inter

Marco Andreolli has spoken of his delight at returning to Inter Milan, where he came through the youth ranks.

Andreolli, 27, arrived in Appiano Gentile for pre-season training after coming back to the Nerazzurri on a free transfer from Chievo.

“I’m proud and delighted to come back home,” he told the club’s official website. “I grew up with Inter, debuting in the Champions League, Serie A and the Coppa Italia here.”

The former Italy Under-21 international moved to Roma in 2007 after four years on Inter's books, although he failed to make the breakthrough at the Giallorossi.

Loan spells in Serie B, with Vicenza and Sassuolo, followed before he made a return to the top flight with Chievo in 2010.

A stalwart in their defence, Andreolli never left Inter’s radar and said: “I won the Coppa Italia with the [Inter] youth team thanks to my goal in the final against AC Milan, and I’ll never forget the feeling of that day.

“I was beside myself with joy when we won the Scudetto in Siena in 2007, and I had the fortune of being part of many other successes.

“Now I am back to start over again and give everything for the Nerazzurri colours, and I hope to relive the many emotions I have already experienced here.”
