Inter Milan sporting director Marco Branca has declared his club’s interest in Catania pair Pablo Barrientos and Alejandro Gomez.
After a disappointing 2012-13 campaign which saw the Nerazzurri finish ninth in Serie A, Inter are keen to add a number of new signings to their squad over the summer.
And Branca has already lined up Barrientos, 28, and Gomez, 25, confirming that Inter are in talks with Catania regarding the Argentine duo.
"I would like to make it clear that we have an excellent relationship with Catania and that is quite important," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"There's no denying that Barrientos and Gomez are excellent players and their potential has not gone unnoticed. We are in talks with the men in charge at Catania and there will soon be clarity."
Barrientos and Gomez are both contracted to Catania until the summer of 2015.
