Paulinho keen on Inter move

Corinthians midfielder Paulinho has declared his desire to join Inter Milan and says he is not put off by the club's lack of European football next season.

Inter finished just ninth in Serie A last term, resulting in the sacking of Andrea Stramaccioni, with Walter Mazzarri being brought in as his replacement.

However, the Brazil international is still prepared to leave South America to join the Nerazzurri, despite no prospect of Champions League or even Europa League action next season.

“I said and I repeat: I would go for sure to Inter,” Paulinho told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “They are a club known all over the world. Ronaldo, Julio Cesar, Lucio and Maicon all played there. Who would not want to wear that shirt?

“The fact that Inter would not participate in the next Champions League is not a problem, because they surely will want to take revenge.”

The 24-year-old, who has been linked with Chelsea in the past, did say, though, that the Italian side should make a strong offer if they were really serious about acquiring his services.

“If Inter want me they have to come forward with a right offer,” he said. “I’m not a kid. I’m fine in Brazil, I play in a strong side like Corinthians and I’m one of the Selecao’s regular XI. I must have the right motivations to leave all that.”

The paper also reports that Inter would have to pay around €20 million for Paulinho.
