Galliani: Kaka fee too much

AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has revealed that his side would not meet the €18 million that Real Madrid wanted for Kaka in the January transfer window.

Kaka would have liked to have sealed a move

Kaka, 30, joined Real from Milan for a mammoth €68m transfer fee in 2009 but he has failed to secure a regular starting berth in Jose Mourinho's side.

Linked with a return to the San Siro, Galliani admitted that he would love to have the Brazilian back at the club and negotiations continued right up until the end of the window in a bid to seal his return.

However, the two clubs were far away on the value of Kaka and could not reach an agreement to complete the transfer, with any hope of resurrecting a deal now dead.

Galliani told Corriere dello Sport: "Real Madrid wanted €18 million - a figure that given his age and salary demands made a deal frankly unthinkable. The story about Kaka is a closed chapter for me.”
