Vincenzo Iaquinta under investigation for alleged involvement with Italian mafia

Former Juventus and Italy forward Vincenzo Iaquinta faces the prospect of a six-year prison term for his alleged involvement with the mafia.

Prosecutors are seeking a strong punishment for the 38-year-old, who was part of Italy's 2006 World Cup-winning squad, for illegally holding firearms amid links with the 'Ndrangheta.

Napoli hire Carlo Ancelotti to replace Maurizio Sarri as manager

Carlo Ancelotti has signed a three-year contract to replace Maurizio Sarri as Napoli's head coach.

The 58-year-old former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris St Germain boss succeeds Sarri at Stadio San Paolo, less than a week after the latter secured a second-placed finish behind Juventus in Serie A.

A statement published on Napoli's official website on Wednesday evening said Ancelotti, who had been out of work since leaving Bayern Munich last September, would take charge for the next three campaigns.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has thanked head coach Maurizio Sarri for his achievements as head coach as the Serie A club reportedly look to appoint Carlo Ancelotti as his successor.
