AC Milan promised much after spending spree but season falls flat as Kalinic flops

The guys respond to your tweets about a possible Parma return for Buffon, how NYCFC would replace Patrick Vieira, Antonio Conte and more.

AC Milan have made the headlines for the wrong reasons this week after UEFA rejected their settlement agreement due to an alleged breach of financial fair play regulations. That in turn now throws their summer plans into doubt, as much will depend on the outcome of June's hearing with the adjudicatory chamber.

While supporters await that decision, they'll have a chance to reflect on the season that just concluded which resulted in qualification for the Europa League for a second consecutive...

AC Milan do not deserve financial fair play sanctions - chief

AC Milan general manager Marco Fassone
AC Milan general manager Marco Fassone was disappointed by UEFA's decision on financial fair play.

AC Milan general manager Marco Fassone said he is "surprised and very disappointed" by UEFA's decision to refer the Serie A club to the adjudicatory chamber of their financial control body for breaching fair play rules without being offered a settlement.

Milan risk being excluded from the Europa League next season and Fassone said he cannot understand why UEFA are considering sanctions.

"I was expecting UEFA to offer us a settlement agreement, because since fair play is in force, UEFA always offered...

Napoli captain Marek Hamsik hints at exit after decade with club

Napoli captain Marek Hamsik suggested he may leave the club this summer in pursuit of a different challenge.

Hamsik, 30, surpassed Diego Maradona as Napoli's all-time leading scorer in December and has been with the club for 10 seasons.

"We believed that we could have finally won the Scudetto this year and I'm sorry for our fans, who would have deserved this satisfaction and I thank them for their great support," he told Pravda.

"I've given everything for this club these months and maybe it is time...

AC Milan could miss Europa League over alleged Financial Fair Play breach

It was a rough day all-round for Milan who unravelled in the second half vs. Juventus.
AC Milan qualified for the Europa League on the last day of the season but could now miss out over FFP sanctions.

AC Milan are in danger of being banned from European competition for breaching financial fair play rules after their case was referred to the adjudicatory chamber of UEFA's club financial control body.

The 18-time Serie A champions have been under the regulatory body's microscope ever since Chinese investors Rossoneri Sport bought them for more than £600 million in April 2017, with the scrutiny increasing when they spent more than £200m on players last summer.

The club had hoped to make...

The Final Word on Serie A: Paulo Dybala leads Juve, Atalanta surprise, Milan struggle

It's ironic that just as the national team hit rock bottom by failing to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in 60 years, the club game felt like it underwent a resurgence in Italy. This season in Serie A will live long in the memory.

It had everything. The best title race in Europe's top five leagues which went back and forth until the end of April. Ultimately though, as Maurizio Sarri put it, the Scudetto was lost in a Florence hotel -- his Napoli players should have gone to bed earlier...
