Inter Milan Champions League hopes receding after draw - Stefano Pioli

Inter Milan coach Stefano Pioli has said his side's hopes of qualifying for Champions League football next season have been hit by Saturday's 2-2 draw at Torino.

Inter had recorded a 7-1 win over Atalanta in their previous fixture but were unable to follow it up with another victory.

It means they are five points behind Napoli and will fall eight points behind them if they win their game in hand on Sunday.

And Piolo told Premium Sport: "The Champions League -- and an incredible goal we set ourselves -- is certainly more distant now.

"We are not satisfied. The performance was not the best, even if the will and desire was there. We missed an opportunity.

"We played against an aggressive opponent, but we did not adapt quickly enough. We made a lot of technical errors.

"There is regret, because in the end we had three or four chances and we deserved to win."

He said the teams ahead of Inter in the table "are strong and often win" but added: "Now we have to recover and prepare for the final push."
