Former Manchester United and Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon is in line for a role with Inter Milan's Chinese owners Suning Holdings Group, sources close to the Italian club have told ESPN FC.
The Chinese group Suning Holdings Group, who bought a controlling 68.55 percent stake in Inter last June, want Kenyon to act as an adviser to their footballing business, including Inter and Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning.
The Nanjing-based group -- one of the largest privately owned retailers in China -- are keen to expand their football empire and want to utilise Kenyon's expertise in an advisory role.
Kenyon is highly regarded among football's hierarchy after enjoying success at Manchester United and Chelsea.
He was responsible for laying the foundations for the sort of commercial domination that United currently enjoy during his six years at Old Trafford and he helped Chelsea recruit Jose Mourinho and enjoy success on and off the pitch in the early years of the Roman Abramovic era.
Kenyon has been working in an advisory capacity for clubs for the last few and now Suning Holdings Group are hoping to get the Englishman on board in a consultancy role.
Sources said influential agent Kia Joorabchian, who works closely with Inter and Suning Holdings, has recommended Kenyon for the role as an adviser for the Chinese Group and that an agreement could be reached soon with all parties.
