Gabriel 'Gabigol' Barbosa not being given fair chance by Inter Milan - agent

The agent of Inter Milan forward Gabriel "Gabigol" Barbosa says the Serie A club are not giving his client a fair opportunity and adds he will seek clarification over his future.

Gabigol, 20, has played just 16 minutes in two substitute appearances since arriving at Inter from Santos after representing Brazil at the Olympic Games in September and his agent Wagner Ribeiro says he is not happy with the treatment he is receiving at the San Siro.

"[Inter president Erick] Thohir told me he was going to make him the best in the world, but instead, half of the season has been played and he's not played yet," Ribeiro told Fox Sport Radio. "I was at the San Siro for Inter-Fiorentina and the president was there and so I asked him why he did not play in the second half when they were 3-0 up.

"I can understand that he is young and still has a lot to learn, but I ask myself what is he lacking to be playing? If Inter were top of Serie A then I would say they are waiting before playing him, but Inter are in midtable and he's not getting a chance."

Gabigol could be on his way out already in January, with Inter coach Stefano Pioli saying the squad needs to be trimmed, and a loan move appears to be the likeliest solution.

"I will ask [Inter sporting director Piero] Ausilio in January what project he and Pioli have for him," Ribeiro said. "Are they going to give him a chance, or are they going to send him out on loan? I don't want to force the coach's hand, but if he doesn't have a chance at Inter then he should go and play elsewhere.

"Adriano, for example, went to Parma and he was 'The Emperor' when he returned [to Inter], while I can also remember that when Kaka joined AC Milan he had Rui Costa ahead of him. The coach was Carlo Ancelotti and he would bring him on at the start of the second half, and Kaka was the best on the field. Gabriel is young, but he is not being given a chance."
