Roberto Mancini sidesteps questions about his future at Inter Milan

Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini's future remains uncertain after he dodged questions when the club arrived back from their preseason tour of the United States.

Mancini and the club's new Chinese owners are reported to be at loggerheads, leading to media speculation that he could be replaced. But club president Erick Thohir said he is Inter's "star player" last week as he attempted to put an end to the rumours.

The former Manchester City coach was asked about his position after landing back in Milan, but he chose to sidestep the issue.

"There's nothing to be said," Mancini told reporters at the airport. "So much has been said already, maybe too much and most of it has not even been true so it's best just to keep silent."

Mancini's contract as Inter coach expires at the end of the season and as yet there is no sign of any talks about renewing that deal. But he said on Monday that he was hopeful of adding new players to his squad before the transfer window closes.

He has given the Inter team three days off following their return from the United States and they will return to training on Thursday.
