Jose Mourinho would be great Inter coach but Mancini's our man - Thohir

Inter Milan president Erick Thohir has said he would welcome Jose Mourinho back as coach at some stage -- but stressed that current boss Roberto Mancini is doing an excellent job.

Mourinho is under pressure at Chelsea, and Nerazzurri fans have fond memories of the Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League Treble they won under him in 2010.

The Portuguese coach has left the door open for a return to the club in recent weeks, declaring his love for the Serie A side in an interview with UEFA.com and answering "why not?" when asked about coming back at a book launch.

Thohir told Tuttosport: "He's a great coach, but we've never spoken about it.

"Of course he would be a good coach for Inter, but I don't think it's right to compare the two. We have complete faith in Roberto Mancini. We just need to wait for the results, and we want him to be part of Inter's history for many years to come."

Speculation in the Italian media had suggested Mancini and Mourinho could even swap clubs, but Thohir brushed such talk aside.

"If you ask me, he's going to stay at Inter for the next 10 to 15 years," he said. "At the moment, we have an agreement for the next two to three years, and I don't think he's the kind of person to leave a project halfway through.

"It wasn't easy for him to start with because we were in a period of transition, but now we're very happy with the results, with how he is leading the side and how he is managing them -- it's not easy when a lot of new players come in.

"We always believed in his work and in his personality. We're happy, and I think he is too. We share the same vision."

Inter lead Serie A after 11 matches, and Thohir said the aim was "to do everything to get Inter back among the 10 biggest clubs in the world."
