Everton forward Ademola Lookman pledges future to England - sources

Ademola Lookman has pledged his international future to England ahead of Nigeria, sources close to the Everton forward have told ESPN FC.

Lookman, who joined Everton from League One club Charlton for £10 million in the January window, is regarded as one of the best young attacking talents in the country.

The 19-year-old is eligible to play for England because he was born in London and also qualifies for Nigeria through his parents.

Lookman has represented England at under-19 and U20 level, but Nigeria were hoping to persuade him to switch his international allegiance to them.

However, after holding talks with the Football Association he has decided to continue playing for England, the sources said.

Lookman is expected to be named in the England squad for the U20s World Cup in South Korea this summer.
