Juan Carlos Osorio's Paraguay to face Mexico in March
Paraguay head coach Juan Carlos Osorio will face off against his former employers Mexico in March, with the Colombian returning to the scene of El Tri's 7-0 loss against Chile in California in June 2016.
The Paraguayan football association confirmed that La Albirroja will play Mexico on March 26 in Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara in what is likely to be the second game in charge for incoming El Tri manager Gerardo "Tata" Martino, who is yet to be confirmed but widely reported to be the next coach.
Mexico is reportedly set to open 2018 against Chile in San Diego on March 22, before facing Paraguay four days later. Both South American sides are preparing for the Copa America next summer, while Mexico misses out in order to play CONCACAF's Gold Cup.
Osorio left Mexico in July after El Tri exited the World Cup at the Round of 16 stage for the seventh consecutive occasion and was linked with the United States and Colombia jobs before he accepted an offer from Paraguay in early September.
Osorio started off brightly with Mexico, recording nine wins and zero losses in his first ten matches, before the 7-0 loss to Chile in the Copa America Centenario almost cost him his job.
