Chile and Peru will meet in a friendly in Miami on Oct. 12, the Chilean football federation (ANFP) said on Monday.

The so-called Clasico del Pacifico had been expected to be played in Peru but will be held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

It will be Peru's second game in Miami this year after they beat Croatia 2-0 in an exhibition match in March.

The South American teams have faced each other 77 times since 1935, with Chile winning 43, and played each other during qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup.

Chile won both games but failed to qualify after losing 3-0 to Brazil in their final qualifying match. Meanwhile, Peru beat New Zealand in a playoff to secure their first World Cup appearance in 36 years.
