Christian Benteke, Divock Origi out for Belgium; Kevin Mirallas brought in

Liverpool forwards Christian Benteke and Divock Origi have withdrawn from the Belgium squad for Tuesday's friendly against Portugal after suffering injuries.

Kevin Mirallas of Everton has been called up as a replacement for Origi for the Portugal game, which will be played in Leiria as a result of this week's bomb attacks in Brussels.

Belgium boss Marc Wilmots said Origi faces around a week on the sidelines as he sustained a calf problem.

He told reporters on Thursday: "He took part as normal in Tuesday's session without feeling any discomfort, just like he didn't ask for any treatment that evening.

"Today he felt some stiffness in his leg and after an examination it appears that he's suffering from a strain or even a micro tear. He'll be out for one week so I decided to replace him with Kevin Mirallas."

Wilmots said Benteke, who will not be replaced in the squad, had been struggling with a knee problem.

"Christian Benteke complained about his knee during training and has gone to Dr Declercq in Anvers," he said.

Belgium confirmed via their Twitter account that the striker will undergo his recovery with his club.

Liverpool are next in action in a Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur on April 2, which is followed by the two-legged Europa League quarterfinal with Klopp's old club Borussia Dortmund.
