Cristiano Ronaldo is set to return to Manchester where he could line up against Lionel Messi after FIFA announced news of a friendly between Portugal and Argentina next month. The two nations will meet at Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail, as former club Manchester United continue to be linked with a move to re-sign Ronaldo from Real Madrid. The fixture is due to be played on Nov. 18, with world football's governing body confirming the date on its official website. Ronaldo left United for Madrid in 2009 for a then-world record fee of 80 million pounds after spending six successful years at the club. He returned to Old Trafford with Los Blancos and scored against his former team in the 2012-13 Champions League last 16, as Jose Mourinho's side advanced to the quarterfinals. The Portugal captain has consistently been linked with a transfer back to United in recent years, with one set of fans flying a banner during a Madrid game last week which read: "Come home Ronaldo." If both Ronaldo and Messi are selected, FIFA's top two best players in the world will be on show in Manchester. The Portuguese pipped the Argentine to the 2013 Ballon d'Or, with the Madrid man having finished second to the Barcelona forward in the previous two years. The duo last faced each other on the international stage when both players found the back of the net during Argentina's 2-1 friendly win in February 2011.
