NorthEast United sign Bagan's Katsumi Yusa

NorthEast United have made their first international player signing of the forthcoming Indian Super League by roping in Katsumi Yusa on loan from Federation Cup champions Mohun Bagan. In signing Yusa, the club becomes the first ISL franchise to sign an international player of Asian origin since the inception of the Indian Super League.

"I'm really excited to be playing in the ISL and especially for NorthEast United. I also cannot wait to play in front of the amazing NorthEast fans," said Katsumi, who will be playing in the ISL for the first time. "It feels amazing to welcome Katsumi Yusa to NorthEast United Football Club. His work ethic is outstanding and he will be the bridge between our Indian lads and the foreign players," said NorthEast United owner John Abraham.

Domestic players that NorthEast United have already signed this season include Rowllin Borges, Subrata Paul, Lallianzuala, Sumeet Passi and Nirmal Chhetri.
