There have been 157 goals scored in 66 matches this season. East Bengal have scored the most goals (25), while Mumbai FC are the only team to have scored less than 10 goals. Incredibly, three of their eight goals came from just the first two matches, both of which they won. They are winless in 12 matches since.

The longest unbeaten streak in the league this season has been Mohun Bagan's 55 days. Bagan began the season with a 1-0 win over Churchill Brothers in Kolkata on January 8. Fittingly perhaps, their 2-1 defeat at the hands of the same opposition in Vasco, Goa on March 4 remains their only competitive defeat across all competitions thus far in 2017.

The number of all away wins this season. East Bengal alone have recorded one-third of all these -- with victories away to DSK Shivajians, Churchill Brothers, Minerva Punjab, Bengaluru FC and Shillong Lajong. The remaining 10 wins are split among eight teams in the field, with Shillong Lajong and Aizawl FC the only other teams to have done this more than once. The only team yet to win away from home are Chennai City FC.

The number of goals scored by Cameroonian Aser Dipanda, the top scorer this season. Dipanda has accounted for exactly half of the 18 goals scored by Shillong Lajong. The top scorer among Indians is Bengaluru FC's CK Vineeth, whose six goals include one of the season's two hat-tricks, when he scored all three of the goals in his team's 3-0 win against Mumbai FC. The other hat-trick this season was registered by East Bengal's Wedson Anselme.

The most goals in a match came when Minerva Punjab beat Churchill Brothers 5-4 in Vasco on February 19. Three teams have scored five goals in one match, with two of them -- East Bengal against Minerva Punjab and DSK Shivajians against Mumbai FC -- able to record 5-0 wins.

With four rounds remaining, for most of the teams in the fray at least, there are three definite contenders for the league title: Aizawl FC (30 points from 14 matches), East Bengal (27 from 14) and Mohun Bagan (23 from 12). Of them, Aizawl are the only team with just one home match remaining, that too against fellow contenders Mohun Bagan. Bagan have six matches left, but three of those will be away. Of the remaining three, one will be the Kolkata derby against East Bengal. East Bengal themselves are left with two home matches, a derby in their city and an away fixture to bottom-placed Mumbai FC in their last four games.
