United States international John Brooks will be out "for the time being" with a hip injury, Hertha Berlin announced on Tuesday. Brooks, 24, sustained the problem in Hertha's 1-0 Bundesliga win against Wolfsburg on Saturday, in which he played the full 90 minutes. According to kicker, the defender later complained of muscular problems in the back region, and a thorough examination has now revealed that he suffered a "muscle tear in the hip region." Hertha's Twitter account added that he will be sidelined "for the time being." Brooks, who started for the U.S. in a World Cup qualifier against Honduras last month, has featured in 22 Bundesliga games for Hertha this season, scoring two goals and setting up another. With four matches left to be play of the season, Hertha currently sit fifth in the Bundesliga -- a position which would secure automatic qualification for the group stages of next term's Europa League. Brooks had to depart U.S. duty early in March because of a sinus infection, leaving the national team to start Tim Ream at center-back for the following draw at Panama.
