Henan Jianye sack Dragan Talajic as manager after loss to Chongqing Lifan

Henan Jianye have parted company with coach Dragan Talajic after the club's loss to Chongqing Lifan on Friday evening saw them slip towards the Chinese Super League relegation zone.

Alan Kardec scored twice for Chongqing as Paulo Bento's side moved up to fourth in the standings, but the result brought the end of Talajic's time at Henan just seven games into the season.

"After cordial discussions between Henan Jianye and Dragan Talajic, the contract between the two parties has been invalidated," the club said in a statement issued on Saturday morning.

"We would like to thank Mr Talajic for his efforts and contributions to the club and we will wish him all the best in the future."

Talajic was appointed at the end of last season after a nomadic career that has taken him to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Thailand.

However, since his appointment Henan have won just once so far this season and the club are currently in 14th place in the 16-team league with four points from their first seven games.
