Olympiakos appoint Besnik Hasi to succeed Paulo Bento as manager

Besnik Hasi has previously managed Anderlecht and Legia Warsaw.

Olympiakos have named former Albania midfielder Besnik Hasi as their new head coach.

The 45-year-old, who has previously managed Anderlecht and Legia Warsaw, leading the Poles against Dundalk in the Europa League, succeeds Paulo Bento at the helm of the Greek champions.

PAOK docked six points, AEK Athens fined after Greek Cup violence

Around 40 people were injured in clashes at the Greek Cup final on Saturday.

The Greek football association has punished PAOK and AEK Athens after supporter violence marred last month's Greek Cup final.

The association's disciplinary committee has ruled that PAOK will lose six points from next season's league tally, play seven home games behind closed doors and pay a fine of €282,500.

AEK have been fined €170,000 and ordered to play three home games behind closed doors.

AEK will therefore play in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League.

Olympiakos' Evangelos Marinakis completes Nottingham Forest takeover

Evangelos Marinakis is the new owner of Nottingham Forest.

Nottingham Forest have announced Olympiakos owner Evangelos Marinakis has completed his takeover of the club.

The Championship side said Marinakis' 100 percent buy-out has been approved by the English Football League (EFL) even though an investigation into accusations of match-fixing is ongoing in Greece.

Marinakis has passed the EFL's owner's and directors' test and the deal ends the five-year reign of Fawaz Al Hasawi, but UEFA is still monitoring the Greek case and awaiting the outcome.

PAOK boss hit on head by beer can thrown from crowd; game abandoned

Marcus Berg gave Panathinaikos the lead before a brawl broke out.

A Greek league playoff between Panathinaikos and PAOK was abandoned after PAOK coach Vladan Ivic was hit on the head by a beer can thrown from the stands.

Ivic was taken to hospital for treatment after the incident, which followed a 54th-minute brawl involving several players.

Play was suspended for more than an hour before the game was eventually abandoned.

40 injured as fans clash before PAOK win Greek Cup final

Police clashed with fans at the Greek Cup final on Saturday.

PAOK won the Greek Cup by defeating AEK Athens 2-1 in a final marred by violent clashes between fans that injured more than 40 people, two seriously, according to police on Saturday.

The game was delayed about half an hour because of the clashes. Police say at least 10 people were taken to a hospital, two of them in serious condition.

Fighting began when AEK and PAOK fans, who were supposed to be separated, met on a footbridge outside the stadium that police forces did not occupy. There were pitched...
