PAOK earn final spot in Champions League over Panathinaikos

PAOK return to the Champions League after two years' absence.

PAOK held Panathinaikos to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday to win the Greek league playoffs and earn a place in next season's Champions League.

Playing in front of a boisetrous crowd, PAOK went ahead in the 17th minute when an unmarked Garry Rodriguez fired into the top right corner.

A speculative shot from distance by Panathinaikos midfielder Robin Lod found its way into the net in the 26th minute, after a failed attempt to clear the danger by PAOK defender Miguel Vitor.

Mexican international Alan Pulido was presented to the media after being saved from a kidnapping.

Mexico and Olympiakos striker Alan Pulido is safe and healthy, almost 24 hours after he was kidnapped while returning from a party in his hometown of Ciudad Victoria in the northern border state of Tamaulipas.

Leon Lecanda reports on the mystery surrounding the kidnapping of Mexican international Alan Pulido.

Mexico international Alan Pulido has been kidnapped, his brother has confirmed to Mediotempo.com.

Armando Pulido said his brother, who plays for Greek club Olympiakos, disappeared Saturday in the northern border state of Tamaulipas in his homeland.

"Yes, it's true, the kidnapping of Alan," he said. "He disappeared since early morning and we have the full support of the governor."

AEK Athens won the Greek Cup in front of an empty stadium on Tuesday.

Midfielder Ronald Vargas set up a goal in each half for AEK Athens to beat Olympiakos 2-1 and win the Greek Cup on Tuesday, ending a tournament marred by violence and administrative disputes.
