Ghana pair move in Germany

Ghana defender Kasim Nuhu has told KweséESPN he wants to "stay competitive, play regularly, and win more trophies" after joining Bundesliga side Hoffenheim on a long-term deal.

Hoffenheim confirmed on Wednesday that they had signed Nuhu from Swiss champions Young Boys on a five-year deal.

The 22-year-old centreback, a regular for Young Boys when they ended their 32-year-old league title drought last season, thanked the club for an "amazing time" and "trophies won", and will now set his sights on establishing himself in the Bundesliga.

The former Medeama defender is also confident he will have no problems settling into life in Germany.

"Germany and Switzerland have similar languages, the same style of football, so will be easy to settle," he said confidently.

Nuhu has become a Ghana regular in the last year with four caps and two goals since his debut against Saudi Arabia in October.

While he heads to the Bundesliga, another Ghana international is dropping a division below after striker Bernard Tekpetey joined Paderborn 07 on a three-year deal from Schalke 04.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan in Austria, but has now moved on permanently from Schalke after he struggled to break through into the first team.
