Germany players take responsibility for Ireland draw (1:18)

Germany's players admit they have only themselves to blame after conceding late on to draw 1-1 at home to the Republic of Ireland in Tuesday's Euro 2016 qualifier. (1:18)

Marco Reus and Sami Khedira are back in the Germany squad for the European Championship qualifier against Gibraltar and the friendly against Spain, while Cologne left-back Jonas Hector receives his first international call-up.

Dortmund star Reus and Real Madrid's Khedira return from injury lay-offs, along with Schalke captain Benedikt Howedes and Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender.

Lukas Podolski also features, despite his frustrations at Arsenal, and could increase his international goal tally -- currently at 47 -- against European minnows Gibraltar.

Germany coach Joachim Low includes 15 of the players who were part of the World Cup-winning squad in Brazil this summer.

"We'll go into the two games with a broad squad, and want to end the year on a high," he was quoted as saying on the official German FA (DFB) website.

"We want to record a clear victory against Gibraltar in front of a home crowd, while to play the reigning European champions and former world champions Spain is always special."

Defender Hector, 24, has enjoyed an outstanding season for newly-promoted Cologne so far, and Low explained: "We want to get Jonas Hector a bit better -- he's been in good form at Cologne recently."

Following their worst start to any qualification campaign, with a 2-0 defeat in Poland and a 2-2 draw against Ireland so far, Germany are fourth in Group D, three points behind both Poland and Ireland and level with Scotland -- who they beat 2-1 -- on four points from three games.

The Germany team will get together in Berlin on Nov. 10, when the players who won the World Cup will be honoured with the Silver Laurel Leaf -- the highest sports award in Germany -- by German President Joachim Gauck.

They will later watch the premiere of the World Cup movie Die Mannschaft at a Berlin cinema, where they will be presented with winners' badges by FIFA president Sepp Blatter.
