Joachim Low to stay Germany coach

Joachim Low has confirmed he will remain in charge of world champions Germany through to Euro 2016.

Low's future as Germany head coach had been in doubt after he led the nation to a fourth World Cup trophy with a 1-0 win over Argentina in Brazil.

The 54-year-old signed a two-year contract extension before the World Cup and he has now said he will honour those terms that run until the end of Euro 2016 in France.

"Not for a second -- I didn't extend my contract until 2016 just to break it early," told the German Football Association's official website.

"I just needed a few days to get a grip of all my feelings and for my focus to become clear again."

Germany have been drawn alongside Poland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland, Georgia and Gibraltar in qualifying Group D for the European Championship.
