Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann to take RB Leipzig job from 2019-20

Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann will leave the club at the end of next season to take charge of RB Leipzig, the Bundesliga clubs said on Thursday.

Leipzig are yet to announce a new manager for next season following the departure of Ralph Hasenhuettl, but confirmed that Nagelsmann will take over on a four-year deal starting from the 2019-20 campaign.

The highly rated 30-year-old triggered a release clause in his long-term contract with Hoffenheim which allows him to leave at the end of next season.

"It was important for me to work out all the conditions early," he told Hoffenheim's website.

"I owe it to everyone who has worked for TSG as well as the fans and players after our historic qualification for the Champions League, not to burden them with speculation and uncertainty about my future.

"Now everyone knows and we can move on professionally to concentrate on the tasks that matter."

Nagelsmann took over at Hoffenheim in 2016 and led them to successive top-four finishes in the Bundesliga.
