Hoffenheim boss looking forward to clash with 'radical' RB Leipzig

Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann has said he is looking forward to Saturday's trip to RB Leipzig, a team he described as "more radical" than his own.

Nagelsmann, 29, was appointed just under a year ago and this season has steered Hoffenheim to an unbeaten Bundesliga record, making them into one of the league's most attractive sides.

Hoffenheim are in third place, a place and eight points behind Leipzig, who have established themselves as a major force in their first year in the top flight.

Nagelsmann has said he believes his side can come out on top in a match some are calling El Plastico because Leipzig have succeeded with the backing of Red Bull and Hoffenheim with that of Dietmar Hopp, the founder of software giant SAP.

But Nagelsmann told a news conference: "I am looking forward to a good Bundesliga match and I don't care whether it's called El Plastico or El Gigantisimo.

"It's very difficult to break them down and very few teams have managed to do that this year.

"Leipzig will give you space, but it is very hard to make the most of that room."

He explained that Leipzig's approach to pressing when without the ball was even "more radical" than Hoffenheim's, and made light of recent media speculation that he could take over at Bayern Munich after Carlo Ancelotti's reign.

I am in constant exchange with [Leipzig's] Ralph Hasenhuttl and [Dortmund's] Thomas Tuchel," he said.

"We still need to agree who will become the assistant coach and who will be the head coach. We'll confirm the move once we've made that decision."
