RB Leipzig kept their place at the top of the Bundesliga table after Bayern Munich slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Borussia Dortmund.
Leipzig had moved to the summit following their 3-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen on Friday, but Bayern had the chance to leapfrog them with victory on Saturday.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ensured that did not happen, however, with the Dortmund striker connecting with former Bayern man Mario Gotze's cross to divert the ball into the bottom corner in the 11th minute for the only goal of the game.
Bayern went looking for an equaliser, with Xabi Alonso striking the crossbar in the second half and Robert Lewandowski going close late on, but Dortmund were able to see out the game to move up to third in the table -- three points behind Bayern and six behind Leipzig.
High-flying Cologne snatched a last-gasp 2-1 win at Borussia Monchengladbach to pile the pressure on Gladbach coach Andre Schubert.
Thomas Kessler, in for the injured Timo Horn and making his first appearance of the season, made a fine save to deny Thorgan Hazard in the fifth minute, but Lars Stindl gave the hosts a deserved lead after half-an-hour, turning Ibrahima Traore's pass inside Kessler's near post.
Traore hit the crossbar with a free-kick as the hosts had much the better of the first half, but they failed to extend their lead. And they were punished when Anthony Modeste brought Cologne level on the hour mark with his 12th goal of the season, one he knew little about as the ball ricocheted in off his head from Jannik Vestergaard's header.

Niko Bungert headed in Yunus Malli's corner in the 15th minute and Malli converted a penalty five minutes later to put Mainz two goals clear after Jhon Cordoba had been fouled by Caglar Soyuncu inside the area. Malli had to take his penalty twice as the referee saw too much encroaching on his first.
Vincenzo Grifo reduced the arrears midway through the second half when he lobbed the onrushing Jonas Lossl, but Stefan Bell restored Mainz's two-goal cushion with another header from a Malli corner.
Nils Petersen gave Freiburg hope heading into the final five minutes when he pounced on a mistake by Lossl to score, but Karim Onisiwo ensured there would be no late equaliser as he added Mainz's fourth with the final kick of the game.
