Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer, Douglas Costa top kicker player poll

Manuel Neuer and Douglas Costa picked up the awards for the Bundesliga's best goalkeeper and outfield player as Bayern Munich dominated a poll taken by players in the German top flight.

Kicker magazine's prestigious biannual player poll saw Neuer retain his status as the Bundesliga's best keeper with 31.6 percent of the vote, with second-placed Timo Horn, of Cologne, earning just 11.1 percent.

Douglas Costa, a summer signing from Shakhtar Donetsk, secured 30.3 percent of the vote for outfield players, with Borussia Dortmund attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang -- the Bundesliga's leading scorer with 18 goals -- taking 23 percent, and Bayern forward Thomas Muller third with 14.8 percent.

Pep Guardiola's side are eight points clear after the first half of the season, collecting 46 of a possible 51 points, which represents the best record of any team in Europe's top five leagues. Bayern have won 90.2 percent of available points, with Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain having taken 89.5 percent from their league games.

In addition to Neuer and Douglas Costa, Bayern right-back Phillip Lahm, centre-back Jerome Boateng and holding midfielder Xabi Alonso were named the top players in their positions in kicker's own assessment of Bundesliga players.

The German football magazine ranks players in all positions and divides them into four categories: world class, international class, players of note, and players in focus.

Kicker named Neuer top of the list of keepers for the 10th time. The Germany international also moved back into the world-class category, having been downgraded to international class last summer. Schalke's Ralf Fahrmann was named second best keeper, and into the second category.

Bayern captain Lahm, having been mainly used as a right-back in the first half of the season, was named the best in that position ahead of Dortmund's Matthias Ginter. They were the only two full-backs named international class.

Boateng topped the centre-back ranking and was the only player in the position to be rated world class. Bayern teammates David Alaba and Javi Martinez were his closest competitors.

Two wingers, Douglas Costa and Dortmund's Henrikh Mkhitaryan, were named in the world-class category, and the Bayern player topped another ranking.

Alonso was named best player in the holding midfield position ahead of Bayer Leverkusen's Kevin Kampl and Borussia Monchengladbach's Granit Xhaka.

The rankings for attacking midfielder and forward are set to be published this Thursday.

Another results from the poll of Bundesliga players saw Gladbach's Andre Schubert (35.2 percent) and Hertha's Pal Dardai (27.9 percent) named biggest winners in the coaching category, while former Stuttgart boss Alexander Zorniger was biggest loser (44.3 percent).

Dortmund's Westfalenstadion was voted the best ground (44.7 percent) but centre-backs Neven Subotic (10.2 percent) and Mats Hummels (nine percent) were named biggest losers among players.

Players were also asked whether they would move to the Premier League if they were offered a significantly better salary, with 45.9 percent saying they would, 36.1 percent saying it was possible and only 15.6 percent saying they would not.

Players were only marginally in favour of video evidence, with 49.6 percent keen to see its introduction and 45.5 percent opposed.
