Arjen Robben desperate to return from injury for Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich forward Arjen Robben says "it just sucks" that he has been unable to overcome his ongoing injury problems.

Robben, 31, has been out of action for a month with the latest problem, which saw him last just 30 minutes of Netherlands 1-0 home defeat to Iceland in a Euro 2016 qualifier on Sept. 3.

He had been in outstanding form in the early part of this year, scoring seven goals in eight league appearances and on his way to win the prestigious Torjagerkanone, the trophy for Bundesliga's top scorer.

But in late March, he suffered an injury against Borussia Monchengladbach, and has since struggled to return for more than a handful of appearances and is currently sidelined with a muscle injury

"It's already better, but not well," he told the Dutch radio station Evers Staat Op about his progress. "It just sucks."

Robben has been seen training at the club's Sabener Strasse base, but has yet to resume working with his teammates.

On Monday, Pep Guardiola did not entirely rule the winger out of the Bundesliga clash with Borussia Dortmund on Sunday. But, according to kicker, he will definitely miss the match and also is a major doubt for his country's crucial qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Czech Republic in mid-October.

Robben said: "It's really frustrating that I do all I can to be in the best possible shape. And it all went fine. I went without injuries for two years, and now I have suffered a setback with three consecutive injuries."
