Dortmund's perfect start ends with draw, Chicharito scores first Bayer goal

Borussia Dortmund failed to win for the first time this season as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Hoffenheim.

Sebastian Rudy gave the under-pressure Markus Gisdol something to smile about on the Hoffenheim bench just before half-time, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang brought Thomas Tuchel's men level.

With the goal, Aubameyang became the first player in Bundesliga history to score in each of his club's first six games in a season.

Dortmund could not craft a winner as their 11-game winning streak came to an end, leaving them two points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.

Dortmund looked keen to respond to Bayern's 5-1 win over Wolfsburg on Tuesday night, aware that only a win by two goals or more would see them return to the top of the pile.

Javier Hernandez scored his first Bundesliga goal to halt Bayer Leverkusen's slide and earn them a 1-0 win over Mainz.

The summer signing from Manchester United netted the only goal of the game midway through the second half, with a deflection off Hakan Calhanoglu helping his 20-yard effort beat Loris Karius.

Leverkusen looked nervous on the night but managed to hold on to end a three-game losing streak and move level on points with their guests.

Mainz host Bayern Munich next on Saturday with Leverkusen heading to Werder Bremen.

Borussia Monchengladbach picked up their first points of the season with a 4-2 win over Augsburg in their first game since Lucien Favre's shock resignation.

Sitting on the bench for the first time as Gladbach's caretaker coach, Andre Schubert could hardly believe his eyes as the Foals raced into a four-goal lead within 21 minutes at the Borussia Park Stadion.

Fabian Johnson put them in front as early as the fifth minute before three more goals in the space of three minutes effectively put the points in the bank, Granit Xhaka, Lars Stindl and Mahmoud Dahoud doing the honours.

Schalke moved up to third with two late goals earning them a 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

After a wasteful first half, it looked like Schalke were going to pay the price when Frankfurt came at them in the second 45 minutes.

They too failed to take their chances, however, and Joel Matip headed the hosts in front with 15 minutes remaining.

Alexander Meier went close to equalising with Matip clearing off the line before Leroy Sane sealed Schalke's victory with a fine individual effort in stoppage-time.

The win lifts the Gelsenkirchen club above Wolfsburg into third place, three points adrift of local rivals Borussia Dortmund.

Stuttgart picked up their first win of the season to move off the foot of the table and increase the pressure on Hannover coach Michael Frontzeck, whose side slipped to the bottom of the table after a 3-1 home defeat.

Kenan Karaman gave the hosts the lead from Hiroshi Kiyotake's pass, but Hannover's joy lasted just over a minute before Christian Gentner levelled for the visitors.

Timo Werner turned the game on its head just two minutes later, tucking the ball in after Daniel Ginczek was thwarted in a one-on-one by Hannover keeper Ron-Robert Zieler.

Alexandru Maxim completed the win for the Swabians in stoppage time with Hannover rarely looking like they could have found a route back into the game.
