Felix Magath wants video replays after Bayern Munich penalty decision

Felix Magath has called for the introduction of video replays in the Bundesliga after Augsburg were potentially deprived of a point against Bayern Munich due to an incorrect penalty decision at the weekend.

Referee Knut Kircher apologised to Augsburg after reviewing the incident that led to him awarding a 90th-minute spot kick to Bayern in the Bavarian derby.

Thomas Muller stepped up to make it 2-1 from the penalty spot and continue Bayern's perfect start to the season.

Had there been the opportunity for the referee to review the incident, however, Augsburg may have secured a draw, while Borussia Dortmund could have been two points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table.

And former Hamburg, Bayern and Wolfsburg boss Magath says there must be no further delay in turning to technology.

"The Bundesliga needs a referee with a television -- immediately,'' he wrote in several German newspapers. "Football continues to ignore this opportunity which will not change the game, it will just make it fairer.

"It takes just 10 seconds. Ten seconds and you have seen enough. Enough to make the right decision.''

The Bundesliga has already introduced goal-line technology this season after pressure from clubs saw the German Football League reverse its initial opposition to its use.
