Jurgen Klopp should be Guardiola's replacement - former Bayern star Elber

Former Bayern Munich attacker Giovane Elber has tipped former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp to succeed Pep Guardiola at the German champions in 2016.

Speaking on Sky, Elber, a 2001 Champions League winner with Bayern, said: "I believe that Pep will be gone after the season. And then a very, very big coach, currently on the market will join."

"When you can get a Jurgen Klopp, what more could one want? He will take a sabbatical, and then he will join us, should Pep not want [to stay]. He is a good coach, and humanly perfect."

Last week, following the 3-1 defeat to Wolfsburg in the German Cup final, Klopp ended his seven-year reign at Borussia Dortmund. He later announced that he and his entire coaching staff are to take a break from football to let the years at the Westfalenstadion sink in.

Klopp has won 56 percent of his games with Dortmund and has won the Bundesliga twice in 2011 and 2012. He also brought the club to the brink of winning their second Champions League trophy, finishing as runners-up in 2013. In addition, he's won one German Cup in 2012 and three Supercups in 2008, 2013 and 2014.

Last month, Klopp did not rule out joining Bayern Munich at a later point in his career, and only ruled out taking over the club next season, which, given that Pep Guardiola remains under contract as manager until 2016, would not have been possible in any case.

But the Catalan coach has yet to commit to the German champions beyond 2016, and Elber believes that this will not happen. With Guardiola continuing to be linked with Manchester City, Eiber believes that the former BVB boss is to succeed Guardiola at the Allianz Arena.
