Bayern Munich's Holger Badstuber: No Joachim Low Germany contact

Holger Badstuber continued his impressive comeback in Bayern Munich's 4-1 victory over Koln on Friday, but has not been in touch with Joachim Low over a possible Germany comeback.

Badstuber, 25, last featured for the German national side in October 2012 in the historic 4-4 draw with Sweden in Berlin.

Just over a month later he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear in Bundesliga action, and only returned to Bayern's starting XI following several injury setbacks.

Three games into his comeback the defender suffered a tendon injury, and did not return before Bayern's 8-0 rout of Hamburg earlier in February.

But after making his third consecutive league appearance on Friday, Badstuber told reporters: "I am happy to win minutes. It gets smoother with every match.

"To play against unpleasant opponents is also good for me. I need to work hard, but it all returns step by step."

Prior to his knee injury in December 2012, Badstuber was a permanent starter for world champions Germany, winning 30 caps in just over two years.

The Bayern centre-back does not want to rush things, but is ready in case Die Nationalmannschaft coach Low calls him up for the next round of international games in late March.

"I have not had contact with the Bundestrainer," he added. "But I have also not made any other plans.

"I don't want to speculate too much. I am very relaxed. I need to deliver my work, and we'll see about the rest after that."
