Leverkusen unfazed by rumours of Christoph Kramer Real Madrid link

Bayer Leverkusen have dismissed rumours linking Germany international midfielder Christoph Kramer with a move to Real Madrid.

Kramer -- who is on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach and scored a spectacular own goal as the Foals lost at Borussia Dortmund on Sunday -- has been linked with a summer switch to the Bernabeu by reports in the Spanish press.

Glabach have already said they intend to do everything possible to keep the 23-year-old, who has played a key role in their outstanding start to the season.

And Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller reacted to rumours that the player could be heading to the La Liga leaders by telling Bild: "We're relaxed. The situation is clear for us," and insisting Kramer would return to Leverkusen in the summer.

Kramer's agent Rene vom Bruch, who also represents Barcelona keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen -- who left Gladbach for Spain this summer -- told Bild the Real rumours "are not an issue for us."

He added: "Christoph is fully focused on Gladbach, and is under contract at Leverkusen from next summer on."

On Monday, Kramer apologised to his teammates after his long-distance own goal.

The midfielder lofted the ball over goalkeeper Yann Sommer from 45 metres to decide a game in which struggling Dortmund notched up more than 20 shots on target but only won 1-0.

BVB coach Jurgen Klopp said of Kramer: "He now has a small place in our club's history without wanting it."
