Franck Ribery over World Cup woe

Bayern Munich's France star Franck Ribery has said his disappointment at missing the World Cup is "out of his system."

Ribery, 31, had to withdraw from the World Cup squad because of the back injury that hit the end of his domestic season in Germany.

But he made his comeback last weekend as Bayern saw off Borussia Monchengladbach and Wolfsburg to win the Telekom Cup, a preseason tournament in Hamburg.

He told reporters: "I wanted to be there [at the World Cup in Brazil], but I have got it out of my system.

"I'm fit again, but before and after training I have to get my back checked, get treatment, get a massage. But it's good."

The former Marseille man added: "I was in top shape for two and a half years -- I was in really good form. After my injury at the start of the year, I lost my rhythm -- but I'm now back on the right track."

Ribery crossed for Robert Lewandowski to head home the opening goal of the 60-minute final against Wolfsburg.

The Poland international striker, who joined Bayern on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund this summer, later struck again in his new club's 3-0 win.

"It's good for us and him," Ribery said. "It gives him self-confidence. I hope we'll have a great season together and win several trophies again."
