Frankfurt announced in January that the highly-rated former Germany under-21 player would be signing for the Treble holders, and Rode has now agreed a four-year deal with Die Roten.

"I am delighted that this transfer worked out," Rode told the club’s official website. "FC Bayern is the next big step for me. I want to further myself here and win many titles with my future teammates."

Bayern's sporting director Matthias Sammer praised Rode as an "excellent professional" who will be an asset to the club in the coming years.

"Sebastian embodies the highest levels of professionalism and dynamism," Sammer said. "I'm certain he’ll bring momentum and flair to our team as we tackle our future challenges."

Rode is currently sidelined with cartilage damage in his right knee, playing the last of his 61 Bundesliga games for Frankfurt on Feb. 23 in a 0-0 draw with Werder Bremen, and has been capped six times for the Germany under-21 side.

Bayern have already signed Borussia Dortmund attacker Robert Lewandowski, who will also join Pep Guardiola’s side on a free transfer in the summer.
