Xherdan Shaqiri to miss Arsenal trip
Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri is expected to be out for around two weeks after sustaining a thigh injury during Saturday’s 4-0 win over Freiburg.
Shaqiri scored twice in the victory but was replaced by Bastian Schweinsteiger after an hour.
Bayern’s official website said the Switzerland international “will definitely miss the first leg of the round 16 clash with Arsenal on Wednesday, and the Bundesliga away match at Hannover next Sunday.”
Bayern are already without Franck Ribery for the trip to the Emirates Stadium but it appears both wingers are likely to available for the second leg against Arsenal at the Allianz Arena on March 11.
