Fabian Johnson to resume training

Hoffenheim's Fabian Johnson will begin individual training only three days after undergoing surgery to his right hand.

Fabian Johnson
Fabian Johnson will be out of contract at the end of the season.

The U.S. international Johnson broke his right hand during Hoffenheim’s 4-0 defeat at Nurnberg, and had to undergo surgery to correct the problem the following day. His club only made a brief announcement via Twitter, notifying Hoffenheim and Johnson die-hards that the versatile left foot will be out of action "until further notice."

According to kicker, Johnson has now been cleared to return to the training pitch this Wednesday, when the U.S. international will resume individual training, before returning to team training early next week.

Johnson, however, will miss the relegation battle against Hamburger SV at the weekend, kicker reports.

Johnson, a candidate for Juergen Klinsmann’s World Cup squad, has only six months left on his Hoffenheim contract, and has been linked with a switch to other Bundesliga clubs, with Borussia Moenchengladbach reportedly leading the chase for the Munich-born.
