Murat Yakin dismisses Hannover talk

Basel coach Murat Yakin has told Bild he has no interest in taking over at Hannover.

Murat Yakin wants to remain at Basel.

Hannover are currently seeking a replacement for Mirko Slomka, who was dismissed after nearly four years in charge following a dismal start to the season.

Yakin, who had earlier been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Lazio, has now told Bild he has no interest in leaving the Swiss champions.

He said: “Hannover is not interesting. A change in the winter is not an option. My work in Basel is not yet over.”

Hannover are currently 13th in the Bundesliga and have lost all eight of their away games this term.
