Eintracht Frankfurt v Fortuna Düsseldorf: Preview

Fortuna Dusseldorf defender Martin Latka has vowed to get his name on the scoresheet in Frankfurt tomorrow in a bid to stave off the threat of relegation.

In his last two games, the Czech central defender has gone close to opening his account for the club, hitting the crossbar once and being denied by an excellent save against Borussia Dortmund last week.

For a player who is used to scoring a few goals in a season, the games are running out for the 28-year-old to maintain that record. The games are also running out for Fortuna to secure their top-flight status with only goal difference currently keeping them above the relegation zone.

``We are still just above the drop zone and have our destiny in our own hands,'' said Latka.

``Eintracht Frankfurt are as tough as any other Bundesliga opponent, but we definitely want to pick up the points there.

``In my career, I have always scored two or three goals per season and now is high time for me to score for Fortuna.''

He claims that misfortune has denied him his maiden Fortuna goal, and that has also seen the club slip onto the brink of relegation.

Had his two most recent efforts gone in, Fortuna may well have drawn their last two games 2-2 rather than losing them 2-1.

``Sometimes you need a bit of luck, and I don't really have that right now,'' he told the Westdeutsche Zeitung.

``It does get you down not to have won for such a long time.''

Frankfurt have come through their own barren spell and are now back on course for a place in Europe next season.

For midfielder Takashi Inui, that would be a dream come true at the end of his first season in the Bundesliga.

``We have the chance to qualify for Europe and that would be incredible,'' he said on his club's website.

``That would be a reward for a fantastic, successful season.

``We have a fantastic team here in Frankfurt and we've played a super season.''
