Europe is recognising football talents developed in U.S. - Schalke's Jobst

Christian Pulisic
Christian Pulisic's skills have been honed at Dortmund.

GELSENKIRCHEN -- The work done in U.S. football's youth academies allows European clubs to polish talents developed in the United States, Schalke executive Alexander Jobst has told ESPN FC.

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Christian Pulisic impressed for the U.S. in their recent win against Honduras, scoring one and setting up two to take his club form to the international stage.

U.S. manager Bruce Arena told reporters that while Dortmund deserved "a lot of the credit" for developing Pulisic, the U.S....

Cologne keen on permanent deal for Borussia Dortmund's Neven Subotic

Jermaine Jones says it is important for the U.S. to let Christian Pulisic grow, citing Dortmund's handling of the teenager.
Bruce Arena is speaking glowingly of Christian Pulisic, but does he have any traits similar to Landon Donovan?
Herculez Gomez says Christian Pulisic does not have to be 'the man' yet for the United States.

Cologne are set to enter talks with on-loan Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic over a permanent move.

Subotic, 28, joined Cologne on loan in January after a difficult 18 months at Dortmund in which he made just six appearances, having found himself out of favour under coach Thomas Tuchel and struggled with injuries.

He has played six times for Cologne since arriving and, while he has not yet recovered his best form, the club's sporting director, Jorg Schmadtke, told kicker that talks to make...

Eintracht Frankfurt expect Jesus Vallejo to return to Real Madrid

Jesus Vallejo has made 21 Bundesliga appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Eintracht Frankfurt expect defender Jesus Vallejo to be recalled by Real Madrid in the summer.

Vallejo, 20, is on loan at the Bundesliga club, who are keen to retain his services for the 2017-18 season.

"I believe that Real will recall him, have him train with the squad and then make a decision whether to send him on another loan or keep him," Eintracht's sporting director Bruno Hubner told Frankfurter Rundschau.

"That might very well be. But it's a fact that Jesus has a clear structure. I have...

Bayern's Douglas Costa won't need knee surgery - Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

ESPN's SPI has Bayern as 2-1 favourites against Real Madrid in the UCL quarterfinals, the FC crew debate if it's warranted.
The FC panel debate the best team in international football and highlight Brazil's impressive resurgence.

Bayern Munich's hopes of securing a Treble this season received a boost as winger Douglas Costa got an all clear and will not need knee surgery, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said on Monday.

Costa, 26, was ruled out of Bayern's last game before the international break against Borussia Monchengladbach with what Carlo Ancelotti termed "a minor knee problem."

However, the knee injury forced the Brazil winger to pull out of the Selecao's squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Paraguay.

Franck Ribery says he could move to MLS after Bayern Munich stay ends

The FC crew look ahead to the UCL quarterfinals, giving predictions, and debating if there are any upsets in the cards.

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has told kicker that he could follow in the footsteps of Bastian Schweinsteiger and move to Major League Soccer, saying he would also consider China, Dubai or Qatar.

Ribery, 33, arrived at Bayern from Marseille in 2007 and last year extended his contract until the summer of 2018.

"I have always said that Bayern is my last club in Europe," he said.

"But it's always possible you have to make way for others as a 34 or 35-year-old -- that's football.

"Then China, Dubai,...
