Hannover, Stuttgart close on Bundesliga return as Braunschweig slip
Hannover and Stuttgart are now favourites for an instant return to the Bundesliga after TSV Eintracht Braunschweig lost 6-0 at lowly Arminia Bielefeld to slip behind them to third on Sunday.
Bielefeld, out of the drop zone in 15th place after the win, stunned the visitors with the help of an 11th minute hat trick from Reinhold Yabo.
The result puts Braunschweig three points behind the leaders, who are tied on 66 points after Hannover beat Stuttgart 1-0, and virtually guaranteed third place and a spot in the promotion/relegation playoffs against Hamburg.
On the final day Stuttgart face Wurzburger Kickers, who are two points from safety and need a win as well as Bielefeld or TSV 1860 Munich to lose in order to stay up, while Hannover take on 11th placed Sandhausen.
